Fluffs of cloud
Covered the day
In a gloomy shroud
The heavy air
In tufts of missing flair
Lazed in the shade
As the leaves swayed
With bated breath
The viola kept waiting
Eagerly for the rays
Her heart beating
Moments came and passed
The gray was still cast
The viola wondered
"How long is long enough?"
She pondered
Finally through a chink
The rays darted in a wink
"I kept waiting too
Just to get a glimpse of you,"
The sun thought
In a murmuring whisper
As she blushed and smiled
When he kissed her
Awhile long was the wait
But when they met
All was perfect and great
We will wait once more
With cherished smiles
And our memories of adore
